Our mission is to establish support, development, friendship, mutual cooperation, growth, education and to unite the worldwide martial arts community.
We are a body of combative practitioners from around the globe that share a common interest in the combative arts and the mission statement of the JRS. We drop our egos, extend our hands and/or bow to our fellow members.
The Jujutsu Research Society was created to bring like minded people from different martial arts together. We have long advocated a thinking outside the box attitude. We choose to not follow in the footsteps of the old masters but rather to seek what they sought! We believe that “Tradition does not mean preserving the ashes but keeping a flame alight.” – Jean Janses. We are absolutely certain that this is far more in line with the spirit and aims of the original pioneers than it is with the conceit associated with one’s “style” being the ONE & ONLY CORRECT WAY!”
We have the utmost respect for the Masters that came before us and we know we owe everything to them. We simply want to continue their work and find true and effective self defense as we evolve. Sir Isaac Newton said it best when he said “If I have been able to see farther than others, it was because I stood on the shoulders of giants”
Members of JRS can participate in activities such as seminars, conferences, competitions, etc.
